Current and Recent Projects

TAG's project, engineering, and design teams have been involved in more than 100 projects in recent years in the refining, petrochemical, chemical, oil & gas, food & beverage, and power industries.  Some of the projects that TAG has undertaken are summarized below.  More specific information is available upon request.

West Coast Refinery Controls Modernization.  The project replaces existing DCS systems that were installed in the 1970's with Honeywell's TPS.

Gulf Coast Refinery Wide DCS Project.  This project included engineering, design, project management, operator training, construction support, loop check, and startup support for a refinery wide 5,000 I/O DCS project using the Foxboro I/A system.

Latin America Production System Startup and Training.    This project consisted of on-site engineering services for startup and personal training for a Foxboro I/A system on multiple production pads

Gulf Coast Chemical Plant SIS Upgrade Project.  This project involved the upgrade of the existing relay-type safety interlock system with a Triconex TMR safety instrument system.

West Coast Chemical Plant DCS Upgrade.  Project is an upgrade of four existing chemical plant facilities, approximately 1800 I/O.

Gulf Coast Petrochemical Controls Upgrade Project, Texas.  This project consisted of an upgrade of approximately 3500 I/O of existing process controls for a petrochemical unit and involved furnaces, utilities and distillation areas.

East Coast Refinery Central Control Room DCS Project.  This project included the engineering, design, and project management for replacing existing Foxboro Spec 200 controls with Foxboro I/A for a refinery-wide upgrade of the DCS.

West Coast Refinery Control System Upgrade.  This project upgrades existing refinery unit controls to Foxboro I/A.

Gulf Coast Oil Movements Tank Gauging Projects.  These projects consisted of project management, engineering, and design of crude and product tank gauging projects at three industrial installations.

Gulf Coast Refinery Control System Upgrade.   Project is an upgrade of an existing control system to a Honeywell TDC-3000 and the installation of TDC-3000 with a GUS NT network configuration.

Latin America Skid-Mounted Distillation Unit.  Project included the supply and implementation of a PLC, associated power supply, and Iconic's Genesis-32 HMI software for input and control of instrumentation on a skid-mounted distillation unit.

East Coast Compressor Station Automation.    Station controls utilized a Siemens TI PLC and Wonderware interface graphics.

Gulf Coast Refinery Control System Upgrade.    Control systems engineering, design, and project management for the conversion and upgrade of a 2,500 point I/O system from Honeywell TDC 2000 to TDC 3000.

Gulf Coast Refinery and Utilities DCS Upgrade.    Conversion of multiple refining and utilities control systems from Fisher AC² to Honeywell TDC-3000,approximately 1900 I/O.

Wisconsin Utility .  650 MW coal fired power plant. DCS upgrade project with 5000 I/O. Project includes front-end engineering, design, development of construction package and construction management to replace existing Boiler Controls, Burner Management, Motor Controls, Annunciators, and Data Acquisition.

Iowa Utility.   720 MW coal fired power plant. DCS upgrade project with 5000 I/O. Project includes front-end engineering, design, development of construction package and construction management to replace existing Boiler Controls, Burner Management, Motor Controls, Annunciators, and Data Acquisition. Co-ordination with Emerson Ovation DCS, review of SAMA, logic drawings, Graphics and provide Project Management services.

Wisconsin Utility.   2 x 250 MW Gas/Coal fired cyclone power plant DCS upgrade project. Project includes front-end engineering, design, and development of construction package and construction management for replacing existing control system. Co-ordination with Emerson Ovation DCS, review of SAMA, logic drawings, Graphics and provide Project Management services.

Iowa Utility.   250 MW Coal fired power plant DCS upgrade project. Project included front-end engineering, design, and development of construction package and construction management to replace existing control system.

Food and Beverage Projects.  TAG has provided project management, engineering, design, startup and training services for more than twenty projects in the food and beverage industry.
